Kim and David's wedding is in September so they wanted to have their engagement session in the summer to match the weather and look of their wedding.  We visited one of the gardens at the IPFW campus that had special meaning to Kim's family.  Her uncle helped with the initial construction of the garden and was a special person in her life.  I'm glad we had the opportunity to include a location so special to Kim in their engagement portraits.

After a few other locations around the IPFW campus, we traveled across town to the Lakeside Rose gardens.  The park hosted not one but TWO weddings, a Quincanera celebration, and the usual park full of families and quite a few fishermen that day, so we worked around the crowds and got some great portraits as we weaved our way through the park.

I'm looking forward to Kim and David's wedding in Roanoke, Indiana in September.  Thanks to both of you for being patient with all of the crowds and other events at the parks this weekend!

Casey and Tyler were married on June 30, 2013 at Salomon Farm, which is a property owned and operated by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department.  The historic farm was established in 1871 and features a beautiful restored barn with several other buildings on the property to host weddings and other events.  A few animals (sheep, donkeys, and pigs) as well as a few gardens, windmills, and grassy fields also make the farm setting welcoming and a great backdrop for photography.

Well, Tayler is a year or two past her senior year, but we did her session in the same style as much of my senior portraits work.  Tayler did a session with me last year and it was so fun to have her back this year for another portrait session.  Whether it's regular portraits or senior portraits, the key is to keep clothing simple and to coordinate colors with the backgrounds and areas in which you will be photographed.  Tayler did such a great job choosing clothing based on the color and style recommendations that I gave her for the session and that made all the difference in the quality of her finished portraits.
